On the evening of Sunday, 22 September we boarded an overnight train from Rome to Palermo in Sicily. After a few hours in Palermo we then boarded another train to backtrack a bit to our place in Capo d'Orlando.
There was barely enough room...
...to even type a sentence.
Even with the beds folded up and the seats down, it was still pretty small. Totally cool experience, though.
After a stroll along the waterfront we spent some time exploring Villa Giulia, some beautiful public gardens in Palermo.
After some time in Villa Giulia we had lunch at Bar Touring where we had our first encounter with the Sicilian street food staple, arancini.
We rented a villa to accommodate all ten of our people (six Carideos plus four Hoopers) in the beautiful Sicilian beach town of Capo d'Orlando. What else did we do while in Sicily?
